Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.)

Our Union Government 's National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE), has mandated that all untrained primary teachers of Government, Government-aided and private schools will compulsorily need to undergo the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).

As per the Union Government order, all State Governments primary school teachers should obtain the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) by March 2019. Failing this, they would be removed.
This rule will be equally applicable to all primary teachers of Government, semi-Government, and Private and Government-aided schools. The teachers with BTC certificates would be exempted from this compulsion. All primary teachers teaching Classes from I to VIII come under the scope of this order.
There are many Bachelor of Education (BEd) qualified teachers employed with State Governments teaching in primary classes. They will be needed to undergo special D.El.Ed training.

Accordingly, colleges granting degree in Education, including private colleges in Bihar have started offering D.El.Ed courses.
