This year’s celebrations are significant – it’s the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence, being observed as ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ across the country.<\/p>\n

Sandip University celebrated the 73rd Republic Day today with the iconic fashion show from the School of Fashion Design, Beauty Cosmetology & Interior Design (SOFDBC&ID) at its Nashik’s campus showcasing its creative concepts and cultural pageantry. A runway by 10 students of fashion design and flute play by Prof Prashant Thombre was the highlight of this year’s celebration.<\/p>\n

This year’s celebrations are significant – it’s the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence, being observed as ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ across the country.<\/p>\n

Strict Covid protocol was in place as only selective people attended the celebrations at SUN. Only fully vaccinated adults and students above 18 who had received both shots were allowed. Due to the pandemic, there was no guests allowed this year.<\/p>\n

The celebration started at 8 am. Ahead of the event, Hon.ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajendra Sinha unfurled the National Flag and addressed the attendees.<\/p>\n

The fashion show, conceptualized by School of Fashion Design, Beauty Cosmetology & Interior Design (SOFDBC & ID) under the guidance of Dean Dr Sandeep Prasad, started after the tricolour was unfurled with addressed by Hon\u2019ble Vice Chancelor.<\/p>\n

How the art of draping and fashion evolved over the centuries since ancient times was on display at the runway. Ten students of the first year fashion design draped themselves into iconic female characters and walked on the runway.<\/p>\n

The celebration was memorable.<\/p>\n
