The School of Design at Sandip University, Nashik, organized an enriching educational visit to Kala Ghoda Arts Festival in Mumbai. This insightful visit\u00a0 was made possible with the support of our\u00a0 Respected OSD Prof. Vivek Nikam Sir, under the guidance and leadership of our\u00a0 Respected Dean Dr. Vibha Kapoor Ma’am, and our\u00a0 dedicated Design HoD Dr. Taruna Rajpurohit Ma’am, and Beauty & Cosmetology HoD Dr. Rajashree Saoji Ma’am.<\/p>\n

Accompanied by our esteemed HODs, Dr. Taruna Rajpurohit and Dr. Rajashree Saoji, along with faculty members Mr. Mitish Kadian, Mr. Yash Jagtap, Ms. Akruti Awinashe, and Technical Assistant Mr. Rohit Gavali, the students had the invaluable opportunity to explore the vibrant festival.<\/p>\n

The Kala Ghoda Association, established on October 30, 1998, is dedicated to preserving South Mumbai\u2019s iconic art district. Formed by art galleries, patrons, and concerned citizens, it has successfully conserved the area\u2019s heritage and vibrant cultural scene. Renowned for its historic buildings, museums, galleries, boutiques, and eateries, Kala Ghoda attracts creatives, food lovers, and architecture enthusiasts. Its constant buzz is a tribute to its rich legacy.<\/p>\n

In 1999, the Association launched the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, Mumbai\u2019s first multi-disciplinary street art festival. Now a nine-day annual event every February, it has become India\u2019s largest free cultural festival, drawing visitors from across the world. Proceeds from the festival support ongoing restoration efforts in the precinct. They also celebrated their 25th anniversary this year.<\/p>\n

Students engaged in an immersive experience, exploring diverse forms of art and lifestyle through vibrant interactions with culture, creativity, and contemporary living. The event was centered around four dynamic themes\u2014Wellness, Fashion, Sustainability, and Urban Culture, offering unique insights into evolving trends and traditions.<\/p>\n

They also had the opportunity to explore bustling markets teeming with craft stalls, where local artisans and entrepreneurs showcased their creativity. From handcrafted clothing and accessories to intricate home d\u00e9cor and sustainable products, the marketplace was a celebration of innovation and craftsmanship, fostering a deeper appreciation for India\u2019s rich artistic heritage.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
