Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (ACHMM), now called AHMP (Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals), situated in Rockville Pike, Bethesda, Maryland, USA is a professional organization with a strength of about 4000 Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (CHMMs) represented by 56 chapters in 37 states of the USA The membership alliance is focused on its vision of becoming the recognized global leader and resource for hazardous materials professionals. It provides a platform to its members to exchange information through group interactions, courses and meetings on issues and problems related to environmental, occupational and industrial hazards.
Objective of Program:
Hazardous materials are getting accumulated in every industry causing enormous problems in their proper disposal. It is needless to say that the air we breathe, water we drink, the soil we use for growing food are getting contaminated with toxic materials in alarming proportions. This workshop provides an opportunity to bring together academic people from the University, Science and Engineering departments and the personnel from industries on the same platform to interact with experts from USA and learn about the latest methods in mitigating pollution caused by toxic materials. The two-day training course will also help the research faculty in the University to keep abreast with the latest technologies in the field of HMM. The knowledge gained will not only help their research methodologies but also the teaching quality in Environmental Science and Engineering. Further, it also helps them to appear for certified web-based global examinations such as CHMM and Certified Hazardous Materials Practitioner (CHMP) conducted online from USA, facilitated and coordinated by ACHMM-India Chapter.
