Students are able to learn about various manufacturing processes, instruments and raw materials needed for formulation, BMR (Batch Manufacturing Record), role of various designation of cosmetologist in manufacturing of herbal products like role of QA and QC executive. Students are able to explore instruments like tableting machine, lozenges/candy machine which have automatic formulation mechanism till packaging facilities, liquid and semisolid solution/ pulp formulating machine called ‘Reactor Vessel’, Induction sealing machine, tablet counting and dusting machine, oil filling machine, tablet and granule coating machine, mechanical stirrers for formulation of cream, gels, lotion etc., pulverisers, hot air and vacuum ovens, pH and conductivity meter, tablet disintegration and dissolution machine, friability machine, powder sifter and mixer, centrifugation machine, etc. Apart from this students are able to learn (SOP) standard operating procedures and working of all machines.
Students got the opportunity to apply the finished cosmetic products like face cleansing gel, chandan kesar soap, face massage oil, chandan and multani mitti face pack, foot cream, moisturizing cream etc. Being a cosmetologist this information will help students to understand working, processes and handling instruments of the cosmetic industry and what are the criteria needed to develop our own formulations.
