Nature of Grievance/Complaint to be Considered

The following grievances/complaints may be considered in accordance with the University Grants Commission Notification, New Delhi, Dated 11th April, 2023, University Grants Commission (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023:

Process for Grievance/Complaint Resolution

The student may approach the Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) members OR mail the complaint at student.grievance@sandipuniversity.edu.in OR register the complaint on the online Grievance Redressal Portal. Click Here to Register Grievance/Complaint
The Student Grievance Redressal Cell (SGRC) shall fix the date for hearing the complaint.
The results of the meeting shall be communicated to the student.

Women’s Grievance Redressal

Aims

Women Grievance Redressal is intended to preserve and endorses the comfort of all women students and employees of the organization.

Objectives

Women grievance redressal was established under Act No 20 of 1990 of the Govt of India.
Women’s grievance redressal is meant to safeguard and promotes well-being of all women employees of the institutions.
It takes care of all complaints on sexual harassment of women at the workplace and action taken for redressal of complaints.
The is responsible for looking into any complaints filed by students & staff about women’s grievances at university.

Functions

To protect the rights of women and any sorts of violence against them.
To effectively address workplace sexual harassment complaints, assure confidentiality, and assure non-retaliation.
To educate all students and women employees of the institute about Sexual Harassment at the workplace, its effects, and laws against it.
To provide a platform for listening to complaints and redressal of grievance.
To equip the female students, faculty, and staff members with knowledge of their legal rights.
To help in knowing the importance of good health and nutrition and facilities available for them.

Complaint redressal procedure

Any women employee or female student will have the right to lodge a complaint concerning sexual harassment against a male student or the employee of the institute by writing a letter or putting the complaint in the complaint box which is placed in the institute office.
The complaint box will be opened once in a week by the coordinator of the and the complaint is to be informed to the chairman and vice chairman of the .
The complaint will be afforded full confidentiality at this stage.
After receiving the complaint, the chairman shall convene the meeting of the .
The chairman will appoint investigation committee, Coordinator will convene the meetings.
The investigation committee shall then decide the course of action to proceed.
The complaint will stand dropped if in accordance to the committee the complaint has not been able to disclose prima-facie an offence of sexual harassment by complainer /her representative.
In case the investigation committee decides to proceed with the complaint, the wishes of the complainer shall be ascertained and if the complainer wishes that a warning will suffice then alleged offender shall be called to the meeting of the committee, heard and if satisfied that a warning is just and proper, he will be warned about his behavior and non-occurrence of it.
In case the complainer requests that the complaint should be proceeded with beyond mere a warning, the same may be proceeded with in the manner prescribed hereafter.
