Topic: On the occasion of National Handloom Day, School of Design proudly celebrated the rich heritage of Indian handloom and its significance in our cultural fabric under the guidance of Respected OSD, Vivek Nikam Sir and our Respected Dean, Dr.Vibha Kapoor Ma’am, on this event, Ma’am shared a valuable speech aimed to raise awareness about the importance of handloom in promoting sustainable fashion and preserving traditional crafts.
The day was marked by various engaging activities conducted by Nidhi Bharati Ma’am [Faculty(SOD)] that highlighted the theme of renewable. Students participated in a hands-on workshop where they created beautiful frames from waste wood, demonstrating creativity while emphasizing the importance of recycling and eco-friendly practices.
Overall, the Handloom Day celebration at SOD was a resounding success, inspiring participants to value and support the handloom industry, which remains a cornerstone of India’s cultural identity.
