About Human Computer Interaction Design

The B.Des in Human Computer Interaction Design focuses on designing intuitive, accessible, and meaningful interactions between people and digital systems — spanning websites, mobile applications, interfaces, and emerging technologies. As human-computer systems continue to evolve in complexity, the program prepares students to understand human cognition, behaviour, and the principles of designing effective digital interactions.

The program integrates cognitive science, human factors, interaction design, and usability engineering to develop rigorous, research-driven design solutions. Through studio-based and project-oriented learning, students gain hands-on experience in prototyping, interaction flows, usability evaluation, and digital product development.

Graduates are well-prepared to build strong portfolios and pursue careers in technology companies, startups, design consultancies, and digital product organizations. Semester two builds on the foundation by introducing multiple design disciplines and contemporary practices. Students explore visual communication, research-driven design, digital tools, and emerging technologies through interdisciplinary and collaborative projects.
