B.Des (Bachelor of Design)
in Space and Interior Design
The Interior and Spaces have a lot of impact on the physical, psychological, cognitive and behavioural aspects of the end users. The Space Design defines the quality index of life and associated behaviours, and triggers happiness index. Hence it is important to understand the role of spatial designers in shaping private and public spaces. A well designed space has the capacity to accommodate all the elements and still is able to provide the desired comfort. This is possible after careful consideration of basic elements and principles of space and interior designing. However, the traditional approach to space and interior design is often limited to making a space aesthetically pleasing, but the B.Des programme considers holistic thinking to intervene in any space or interiors to make it more meaningful and purpose based.
The programme follows an integrated approach and brings together the concepts and values of sustainability, environmental studies and living traditions. The curriculum helps in sensitizing students towards meaningful spaces and their development through design intervention.
After completing graduation you can become a Spatial Designer I Exhibition & Retail Designer I Visual Merchandiser.
